What is trance like?
People are often curious about trance work or hypnotherapy. Yet we are all familiar with trance and go in and out of it naturally many times each day when driving or watching the television. It’s like when you are just drifting off to sleep or waking up – perfectly natural. You remain fully conscious and in control throughout. Some clients sleep lightly during trance as it’s so relaxing! Trance enables work with the subconscious mind, to clear the barriers to achieving change.
What happens in the first hypnotherapy session?
The first session really starts the whole process of change off! We talk about what you want to gain from sessions and I get a little background information. Then I explain how the brain works and how I can help you to get back in control of your life and on top of things. Clients usually start making progress immediately, from the very first session! Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) means this treatment is all about the future. I focus on you making positive changes and moving forward, and not about the past. Many therapies focus on the problem, but that is rarely where the solution is. Also focusing on the problem is often upsetting as well as unhelpful. SFH is positive, relaxing and very effective. It combines the latest understanding of the brain, with trance work, psychotherapy, NLP and CBT.
Hypnotherapy is effective and results may vary – and success is not guaranteed. Full client commitment is important and the client needs to want to make the changes they seek.
