What is trance like?

We are all familiar with trance and go in and out of it naturally many times each day when driving or watching the tv.  It’s that state when you are just drifting off to sleep or waking up – perfectly natural.  You remain fully conscious and in complete control throughout. Some clients sleep lightly during trance as it’s so relaxing! Trance enables work with the subconscious mind, to clear the barriers to achieving change.  The subconscious mind only takes on board suggestions or changes that it knows will benefit you.  While we feel highly relaxed during trance, the reality is the subconscious brain is fully active.  It is processing information which results in increased focus, concentration and self-awareness after sessions.  Hypnotherapy helps to rewire your brain to make the positive changes you want.

What happens in the first hypnotherapy session?

The first session really starts the whole process of change off!  We talk about what you want to gain from sessions and I get a little background information. Clients usually start making progress immediately, from the very first session!   The trance work starts in the second session.  Then the sessions are split between talking and trance work from then on.  I offer hypnotherapy in St Austell, Cornwall at my office (Enterprise House, PL25 3RF). Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) means this treatment is all about the future. I focus on you making positive changes and moving forward, and not about the past. Many therapies focus on the problem, but that is rarely where the solution is. Also focusing on the problem is often upsetting as well as unhelpful. SFH is positive, relaxing and very effective. It combines the latest understanding of the brain, with trance work, psychotherapy, NLP and CBT. 

Hypnotherapy is effective and results may vary – and success is not guaranteed.  Full client commitment is important, and the client needs to want to make the changes they seek.

COST:  Sessions for adults (16+) cost £60 and last 45-55 minutes.  Children and young people’s sessions are slightly shorter so cost £50, lasting 30-40 minutes.  Quit smoking sessions are a one-off session lasting up to two hours and cost £140.
